Silmax history begins in 1819, when Paul Alessio started to produce his tools, by using the iron from the valleys of Lanzo Torinese. The new workshop was called “Usine”.

In 1875, 50 years, Mr. G.B. Savant bought  the “Usine” in order to begin the production of tools. In Germany he had acknowledged the techniques to produce helix-drills.

1955 is another “historical”  date for the company.  Under the guide of Enrico Maria Fumagalli the “Usine” resumes the production of tools, which was broken off for some years.

It is an innovative management, which in 1975 was 20 years old. So the glourious “Usine” becomes SILMAX, a modern SPA.

In 2005 Silmax is 50 years old. A great target which has been celebrated with all the people who helped to reach this goal.
